Victim Services

Victim Services offers assistance to victims/survivors of crime anywhere in Prince Edward Island throughout their involvement in the criminal justice system.  A Victim Service worker can:

  • Support you in speaking with police.
  • Provide you with information on the status of your case.
  • Empower you with information about the criminal justice system.

If your matter has to proceed to court, Victim Services will help you to:

  • Prepare for court and offer supports throughout the process.
  • Offer information about completing a Victim Impact Statement.
  • Discuss options for therapeutic services or other relevant referrals.
  • In some limited situations, Victim Services may also be able to help you access legal representation related to sexual assault trials.

A survivor does not need to have reported a crime to police to access the support of Victim Services.
