Victim Services offers assistance to victims/survivors of crime anywhere in Prince Edward Island throughout their involvement in the criminal justice system. A Victim Service worker can:
- Support you in speaking with police.
- Provide you with information on the status of your case.
- Empower you with information about the criminal justice system.
If your matter has to proceed to court, Victim Services will help you to:
- Prepare for court and offer supports throughout the process.
- Offer information about completing a Victim Impact Statement.
- Discuss options for therapeutic services or other relevant referrals.
- In some limited situations, Victim Services may also be able to help you access legal representation related to sexual assault trials.
A survivor does not need to have reported a crime to police to access the support of Victim Services.
